Levels
New Members: New members will meet with the Masters Council (consisting of no fewer than 3 Masters) prior to entering any Palette Club Membership Show, to determine their competition classification level.
Beginner: The beginning or "occasional" artist who does art mostly for pleasure, is still in the state of developing techniques & originality, and is engaged seriously in learning more about art. Requirements for beginners to advance to intermediate are two 3rd Place or higher awards in a Palette Club Competition.
Intermediate: Members in this level should be producing art regularly and striving for professional workmanship. Their work must be original. Requirements for artists in this level to move into the Advanced category are two 2nd place or higher awards in a Palette Club show and being accepted into two juried shows outside of the Palette Club.
Advanced: These artists have achieved a professional quality in their work and are striving for quality, creativity and originality. Qualifications for this level to advance to Master are: to be actively involved in the Palette Club and community art-focused activites, to be given two first place or higher awards in Palette Club shows, to have five or more works accepted into juried shows outside of the Palette Club and at least on one-person show consisting of no fewer than 12 works.
Master: Masters shall be outstanding artists who have earned the right to petition admission into this classification, having achieved a considerable degree of quality and craftsmanship, continuous persormance and involvement in club and communtiy art-cocused activities. These artists are chosen after meeting all requirements, then by petitioning the Executive Board as well as Master category level members in writing for their approval and acceptance into the Masters level.
